Former President Jacob Zuma's bid to have six ConCourt justices recuse themselves may delay next week's hearing in the case between Zuma and the Iindependent Electoral Commission. Zuma has launched an application before the court to have the six justices who presided over his contempt of court matter in 2021 recuse themselves, saying they are biased. The hearing, which is scheduled for Friday, follows a ruling by the Electoral Court last month, which decided that Zuma could stand in the elections despite having been sentenced to 15-months for contempt of court. The ruling overturned the IEC's decision to disqualify him from serving as a member of Parliament.
