Elderly SASSA grant beneficiaries in Limpopo demand physical cash payment points

A group of elderly SASSA grant beneficiaries have marched on the office of the Limpopo Premier in Polokwane. They are demanding that SASSA and the Postbank rescind the decision to close all physical cash payment points. Cash payments were discontinued from the 1st of April 2024. The withdrawal of social grants from inside post offices was also phased out. This was announced in December as part of a broader strategy to improve the quality of cash withdrawal services.
